A Farm Theme First Birthday Social gathering for Levi!

Our little Levi turned 1 this previous weekend and we celebrated with a farm theme first birthday celebration! It was lovely and an awesome youngsters’ occasion theme for early fall, too. It may be costly to throw any kind of occasion, not to mention a themed, Pinterest-y one, however I managed to maintain it actually budget-friendly by making the principle decorations myself: the pink barn background and the cow-print flag banner. The remainder I purchased at Greenback Tree and Social gathering Metropolis, extra on that under!

For the DIY barn backdrop, I used this weblog submit as a tough information. The fundamental building is easy: begin with a trifold presentation board (I bought mine at Greenback Tree). Lower alongside the highest of the board to create the roof form. Now that you’ve your fundamental barn form, cowl it with pink poster board (I used double-sided tape to connect it to the presentation board). Then reduce strips of white paper and glue them on to create the barn dos and signature X’s. Subsequent, reduce 2 black rectangles for the home windows and layer on skinny strips of white paper for the window panes. Lastly, reduce black strips to cowl the perimeter of the roof. Tip: I like utilizing both a glue stick or double-sided tape as a result of liquid/gel glues like good ol’ Elmer’s can create bubbles beneath paper.

I secured it to the wall with small picture-hanging hooks (two of them are holding the barn up on the wall), masking tape, and a pair of thumbtacks.

The tiny hay bales are Greenback Tree finds, as are the fake fall flowers and galvanized pots. The plastic animals are a part of our Little Individuals farm play set.

I made the cow print flag banner with black and white poster boards, kitchen twine (any string or skinny ribbon would work), and a single gap punch. First I reduce out the white triangle flags, then reduce little, irregular “splotches” out of the black poster board and used a glue follow safe them to the flags. I punched holes within the prime corners of every flag and threaded the twine by every one. Tip: don’t reduce the twine till the entire flags are threaded onto it and you’ll maintain it as much as the wall to estimate the spacing of the flags and the way lengthy you’ll need the completed banner.

I discovered the tiny straw hat with the pink 1 on it, the farm-theme excessive chair banner, and farm-theme plates and napkins at Social gathering Metropolis—their “Pleasant Farm theme.”
