When to Stream ‘Descendants: The Rise of Red’ on Disney Plus

A new Descendants film is “Red-y” to fill your head with catchy tunes, introduce new characters and probably inspire a lot of scarlet-colored Halloween costumes.

If the wait for Descendants: The Rise of Red has put you in a rotten mood, you can stream the latest Villain Kid-featuring entry on the Disney Plus streaming service tomorrow. In the movie, Chloe (Malia Baker) and Red (Kylie Cantrall), daughters of Cinderella (Brandy) and the Queen of Hearts (Rita Ora), travel through time to uncover what led to the Queen of Hearts’ embrace of villainy.

In addition to seven new songs, the spin-off will include two reprises and a cover of So This Is Love from the 1950 animated classic Cinderella. While the film has a mostly new cast, Melanie Paxson is back as Fairy Godmother, and China Anne McClain’s character, Uma, is Auradon Prep’s principal. Brandy is reprising her role from 1997’s Cinderella alongside Paolo Montalban, who plays King Charming in Rise of Red.

Disney Plus offers all of the past Descendants flicks if you want to catch up, including the 2021 animated TV special Descendants: The Royal Wedding, which teases Descendants: The Rise of Red in its last seconds. But, if you’re here only for deets on the newest Descendants movie, here’s exactly when you’ll be able to watch it on Disney Plus.
