Top of the Ticker: A week after taking over the Brooklyn Academy of Music, MSNBC Live: Democracy 2024 will air as a two-hour special on Sept. 14 at 9 p.m. ET on MSNBC and Peacock. The day-long sold-out event brought together more than a dozen of the network’s most notable hosts—including Rachel Maddow, Joy Reid, Lawrence O’Donnell, Chris Hayes and Jen Psaki—to discuss the 2024 election, the current legal landscape and more. 

News You Can Use: CNN debuts its new Saturday night lineup on Sept. 14 as well, with Have I Got News For You debuting at 9 p.m. after the latest episode of Real Time with Bill Maher. The American version of the long-running BBC comedy series is hosted by Roy Wood Jr. alongside team captains Amber Ruffin and Michael Ian Black. Special guest stars for the series premiere include actress and writer Robin Thede and author/pundit Matt Welch.

Dynamic Duo: Scripps News and ProPublica published a joint investigation on Thursday that explored complaints against auto lender Exeter Finance over their loans, which reportedly left many policy holders owing large lump sums. Journalists from both outlets conducted extensive interviews and crunched the numbers on more than 10 million auto loans included in bonds issued in the past five years. The investigation is available online.

Morning Wellness: NBC News’ Today co-anchor Hoda Kotb will head to the Lone Star state in October to host Making Space: A Wellness Weekend with Hoda Kotb. Held at Austin’s Miraval Resort & Spa from Oct. 25-27, the three-day event includes workshops on mindful practices and well-being explorations. Today with Hoda & Jenna will broadcast two shows from Austin on Thursday and Friday, with Friday’s episode celebrating Kotb’s podcast, Making Space.
