KL Rahul is set to begin his IPL 2025 season with Delhi Capitals, he seems fit to make himself available for clash against SRH after a grand welcome.
Star batter KL Rahul has joined the Delhi Capitals squad ahead of their clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday, March 30. Rahul was absent from the team as he celebrated the birth of his first child with wife Athiya Shetty on March 24. But now he has joined the squad and all set to play his first match of the IPL 2025.
Warm welcome from Delhi Capitals
Rahul, who was previously the captain of Lucknow Super Giants, was released before the auction to seek a fresh start. Delhi Capitals signed him during the IPL 2025 mega auction for 14 crores.
Delhi Capitals welcomed him with a special video package shared on their social media platforms on March 29. The video featured famous Shah Rukh Khan dialogues from the movie Om Shanti Om and showed passionate Delhi fans handing over the cap and bat to Rahul and draping him in the team’s flag. Rahul had a simple message: “I’m home.”
Rahul to Debut for DC Against SRH
KL Rahul is set to make his debut for Delhi Capitals on March 30 in Vizag against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He is looking forward to continuing his excellent form from the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, where India emerged victorious on March 9, 2025. As a wicketkeeper-batter, he aims to start his IPL campaign strongly with his new team.
KL Rahul will lead the Delhi Capitals as they remain eager to win their first IPL trophy, having narrowly missed out in past seasons.
