KVUE in Austin said its viewers are “in for a treat” as longtime anchor Bryan Mays reunites with co-anchor Yvonne Nava on the morning newscast starting April 7.
“Bryan Mays has been a cornerstone of KVUE for over 20 years, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome him back to the Daybreak team,” KVUE news director Travis Sattiewhite. “His connection with our viewers and his dedication to delivering trusted news make him an invaluable part of our newsroom. Reuniting Bryan with Yvonne Nava is going to bring an incredible energy to Austin mornings.”
To offset the implied snarkiness of the TVSpy quotation marks in the first paragraph, The Austin ABC affiliate said Mays co-anchored Daybreak alongside Yvonne Nava for eight consecutive years, often as the top-rated morning team in the market until he moved to nights in 2020.
Mays joined the station in 2000.
