England look to wrap up match as West Indies fight for survival

The hosts have a commanding 171-run lead after putting the West Indies in trouble at 79/6 in the second innings. England, led by Ben Stokes, declared their innings at 371 and set a lofty target of 372 after bowling West Indies out for 121 in first innings. West Indies need 171 runs to avoid innings defeat while England need 4 more wickets.

ENG vs WI Day 2 Highlights

England dominated the first Test at Lord’s, although there were some encouraging signs for the West Indies on the second day. At the end of play, Gus Atkinson dismissed their most promising batsman, Jason Holder, for 20, narrowly preventing him from making a big score.

Positives for West Indies

There was little cause for celebration for West Indies fans, as Shamar Joseph’s hamstring injury only made matters worse.
